Drano gender test. What is it actually? Why the old wives tales have such thing? Why so many people believe or at least try out this method even though they didn't believe in it? How is it going to be work? Is it effective and safe to try?

I don't believe it's 100% false

I love studying these kinds of things. I've watched many You tube videos, and read nearly every post regarding this on the net... And I have not heard a lot of didn't work stories. I've also certainly never heard of the drano pee blowing up!!! I think that for someone who actually does their research, it could turn out to have a pretty good accuracy level. Not that I think anyone should 100% trust anything except your own visual proof when baby comes out. But, hey it sounds fun. And looks amusing. Besides that, it's not dangerous for the pregnant woman to pee in a freaking cup. Stand inside and watch husband/ friend/ whatever do it so you don't breathe anything in. I am going to have an ultrasound in a few weeks, so I am definitely going to try and see the difference in results! (But still... Until baby is in my arms, I'm not trusting anything!)

Precaution To Take
The problem is that it's a bit dangerous, because of the chemicals and the mixing of urine. It's recommended that you do it outside because of fume potential. This test must be performed outside in a glass or jar that holds can hold twice as much urine as you use as there is a bubbling, smelly, and caustic chemical reaction when you add your urine to the crystal drano.

How To Do It?
The ingredients that you gonna need in order to do this test are approximately 2 tablespoons of crystal Drano, medium glass or glass jar. It is best to just throw the mixing glass away after performing this test. And the last thing you need is two to three ounces of urine, preferably the first morning urine. Then follow the instructions below steps by steps:

1. Take the test materials outside.
2. Add your urine to the glass jar with the crystal drano in it.
3. There will be a rapid chemical reaction and it is best to stay well away from the glass jar while the fumes are being produced. 
4. When the reaction stops, observe the color of the test. 

Once you done the test, it is highly recommend to immediately disposing of the mixture as it will have a very bad smell and still be very caustic.

The Result
If the mixture darkens to a brownish color within the first 10 seconds, then it is a boy. If there is no darkening or color change after 10 - 15 seconds that means it is a girl.
